RMB

The 2.5 L /2443 cc RMB was a lengthened RMA with a pale blue radiator badge  launched a year later in 1946. It used the 2.5 L / 2443 cc "Big Four" engine with twin SU carburettors, starting with 90 hp /67 kW but increasing to 100 hp /75 kW for 1948 with a 95 mph /153 km/h top speed. A total of 6,900 models were produced, the Riley RMB was the first 4-door saloon powered by this 2.5 L Straight-4 engine. Using a  longer 119-inch wheelbase, the RMB measured 186 inches in length, was 63.5 inches wide and had a height of 59 inches. Introduced in 1946 through 1952, the Riley RMB was an enlarged RMA model that featured twin SU carburetors that at first produced 90 hp before increasing to 100 hp in 1948. The RMB had a top speed of 95 mphThe wheelbase was 6.5 in /165 mm longer and the overall length was a full 7 in /178 mm longer. The ‘B kept the same basic look as the ‘A, but had a longer wheelbase and bonnet. When launched in 1946, 90bhp was available, but this went up to 100bhp in 1948. By happy coincidence, this also brought top speed up to 100mph as well. The RMB was replaced by the RMF for 1952.
From 1948 two new body styles were available on the 2½ litre models. These were the Roadster (RMC) and the Drophead Coupe (RMD) and these remained in production until 1950 see other pages
1952’s RMF was an almost identical-looking replacement with improved suspension, hydraulic brakes in place of the previous hydromechanical ones and a larger, curved rear screen. Manufacture continued until 1953.
